The Ripples Of Your Decisions

The Ripples Of Your Decisions

I came across and interesting discussion on a medical talk show that I listen to. It should be of interest to most Network Marketers. The discussion was the long and short-term effects on our lives from the decisions we make.

The discussion was based on the lives of two individuals and their descendants. The families originated in New England because of the availability of records 80 (four generations) years ago. There was no analysis of the whys only the results.

Sire # 1

His descendants number over seven hundred. While tracking them through the years, it was learned that none had accomplished anything worthwhile.  They were ner-do-wells, thieves, convicts, drunkards, misfits, and generally burdens on their communities. Of the over seven hundred only eight were ever educated and this came about because of long-term incarceration.

The decisions Sire #1 made created a mindset that had a propensity toward bad conduct and little self-esteme. The ripple effect continues on to this day.

Sire #2

His descendants number over five hundred. His family tended to produce individuals that were leaders in their communities, pastors, ministers, businessmen, elected officials and educators. Less than twenty were involved with the law and only 5 were incarcerated for any length of time.

The decisions Sire # 2 made created a mindset of self-reliance and a desire to improve their lot in life. Their propensity was toward doing those things that build character and honesty.

Pay close attention to the decisions you make. Base them on knowledge not emotions. The decisions you make today will not only affect today but next week and next year rippling on into the fixture.

Whatever you do in life, take heed those that work solely on an emotional plane generally fail. Those that take the time to become educated make informed ethical decisions. This generally leads to fulfillment of desires or “Success”.

Major decisions should, always be based on a thorough understanding of the environment you intend to participate in. Take your time your future could depend on it.
